I use a Samsung Laser printer, and as long as you remember to set the paper thickness to cardstock, the result is a very nice sheen to the toys.  I would recommend a Laser.  The inkjet is more of a Matt finish so it depends how you want the final look.

@ Mike: Laser Printers are more expensive to buy to start with, but by the time you way up how much ink you go through it works out similar as toner cartridges last a lot longer than an ink tank from my experience and also people I ask.

I think that my laser printed design have a lot cleaner/crisper lines than an inkjet, but I am also using laser paper (thank you work) (not sure if that changes with differant paper)

Im pretty sure all my pics on my page are from the laser printer.

 

I guess the best thing for both you and alexander to do would be take a detailed print to a computer store and ask if your able to test print it, if your lucky they may let you, if not they'll have comparrison print outs anyway

This has been going through my head for awhile, too.

I use a 100 year old Kodak printer that can't print with more than one sheet in the tray at a time, and tends to spit out sheets of wrinkled ink blots. 

I hear alot of good things about epson printers. 

I'd like to hear more about laser printers from people who use/own them.

Are they sharper?

Can you get more prints?

as a photographer, i bought the epson stylus photo 1280. i've had great results from it using their heavy-weight matte 4 star paper. the ink is kind of pricey but only if you buy it from the store. once i got into paper toys and realized how much ink i'd blow through, i did some searching and found clickinks.com a set of color and b/w in the store runs me 60 bones, but through clickinks i can get 3 sets of ink for a few pennies more.

Ive been using works laser printer to print lately (sssh) mines been broken for a while now, Im thinking of getting a laser at home, but I havent really looked at any yet!

Ive always been impressed by the canon pixma range for ink printing, and If I get another ink one it will definatly be one of those
