Toy Street

I recently had a spot at the first annual Toy Street event here in NYC. It was my first big attempt to go out and do something new with Cubeecraft besides the site. Toy Street was started by Cookies -n- Cream who describe the event like this:

“ToyStreet is a new event that will provide opportunities for toy collectors, artists and vendors alike to unite in a unique experience where they can buy, sell and trade
designer toys and other related merchandise such as art, clothing,
handcrafted goods, sneakers etc. ToyStreet will also include live
painting and music performances by different artists."

I had several things for sale: A Limited Edition piece called Product01 (originally done for Too Art For TV), 8.5x11 Dead Sea Diver (Dead Sea Diver's mask opens to reveal a skull face), and a line of new large scale Cubees: Red Eye Robot (half X-ray'd robot who's chest opens to reveal his secret power source - a hamster on a wheel who is also half X-Ray'd), Dead Sea Diver (larger version of small print), Qbbgmo (an alien with fins on his head and tentacle arms and legs) and a large scale version of Harlancor'e Pop Rock Boy. These may become available in the Cubeecraft store soon.

I also had the 3 foot tall Product01 from the Too Art for TV show with me - it is now back on display at Zakka in Brooklyn along with the larger scale Cubees listed above and a Zakka-themed custom I did.

I also had a table at the MOCCA (Museum of Cartoon and Comic Art) Festival a week later. I split a table with Colin Walton (Topps trading cards) and Emilio Lopez (TMNT, Chaotic, DInosaur King). I met a lot of cool people at both events, was able to hang out with friends (which is nice since I work so much and don't get out) and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who already knew what Cubeecraft was.
