The Desktop Gremlins Blog of Bedazzlement (and Wonder)! presents: My #1 super-secret tool to unlock the creative mind…revealed!

I apologize in advance for the length of this first real blog post — so fair warning — I am quite passionate about the impact movie soundtrack music has on my life. From a very young age, I noticed the power of the sweeping themes and melodies found in great movie music and their ability to help unlock the creative mind. Hopefully by sharing this story, I will inspire many of you to take advantage of this extremely effective “creative tool."

StreamingSoundtracks.com has a lot of video game music in the library. It's amazing how great game music has become. Will check into your suggestions there. And yes... love anime (don't think I've heard SDK though... will look for it). Talk to you soon! -David

Id have to say that listening to music is by far the greatest source of inspiration an artist can have. I do not like working with out music! here lately i have been listing to Gorillaz and devildriver as i like a very wide variety. Btw have you heard any of the stuff from the Halo (vg) soundtracks or fallout 3 (vg)? I love 50s music so the fallout 3 soundtrack i right up my alley.

On another note great post and i my self am truly glad you added some of the anime soundtracks in there as well... have you heard the soundtrack for Samurai Deeper Kyo (anime)? Tracks aren't as long as id like them to be but its an interesting one never the less.

The mix of simple 2d elements wrapping around and through to create complex looking pieces is a very nice approach. I like your strong graphic style as well. So stack your LP,s, CS,s or MP3 playlists and keep up the creative juices flowing.

Music has always been the inspiration for creation in almost all facets of my creative life.
