Nice Paper Toys

The Papertoy Network!

Here is a model I pulled out of my butt. It seems a bit too simple compared to some of the other models on here, (EDIT: Simple = Good) but I want to hear from you all. This is my very first original model I made. I'm still thinking about colour and if I should add feet or something like that. Also if this will be a series of models or simply one single model.

Obviously the main focal point of this guy is his large mouth, which led me to give him the name WiDEMOUTH. So anyway, tell me what you think!

It has come to my attention that I did a poor recolour job on the other colors, and this will be fixed as soon as I have access to Photoshop and not GIMP. For now, you can still download the white one.

Feel free to colour/mod him and leave a comment with a link and/or photo on My Page or here.

I like. Like said above: Simple is good. Leaves more room for designing your own version.

I like Matt's idea of cutting the mouth out.

Congrats on your first papertoy! He's really fun.
It might be fun to do a version of him where the mouth is cut out of the body so there are some negative spaces to play off the positive spaces. It would add another dimension to the toy without making it too much more complex to build. Maybe some teeth like a jack-o-lantern. Just an idea.

OH WOW, this guy is GREAT, the mouth, the hands, everything. And simple means he's more fun to skin and more likely to get made!!!! It is SO cool

It's a square, so it stands on its own.

Simple isn't necessarily a bad thing, it means theres more scope for modding and also gets peeps who aren't 9th dan papercraft ninjas to have a go too. Good start.
Personally i love the expression and the hands too. *grin*
