Nice Paper Toys

The Papertoy Network!

Meet Fetch... Print him. Build him. Photograph him. And you could Win!

I designed this paper toy for a Facebook based contest which the company I am currently working for is running.  The company sells dog products (beds, leashes, bowls, etc.), and a few dog themed items as well (t-shirts, hats, etc.).  So, if you own a dog, know of someone who does or even know of a local dog shelter or such that could use a nice donation, the $250 Grand Prize is not too shabby.

To enter, all you'd need to do is build the toy (his name is Fetch), take a creative picture with him in it and then, via Facebook, submit the photo.  Simple enough.  The contest ends on March 11th at midnight, so you've a week left to enter.  It is open to anyone, anywhere, as long as you're 18 years of age (and if you're not, you could just get someone who is to enter for you) and have a Facebook account.  And, as already noted, the Grand Prize is a $250 Gift Certificate.

OR…  of course, you could just build Fetch for the heck of it.

Either way, the template and further contest details can be found HERE.

That all said, it's odd how this all came to pass.  I don't consider myself a graphic designer, certainly not by profession.  It's something I know a little about and enjoy doing when needed as part of whatever random project I find myself wanting to do.  It's part of my hobbies, like so many things in my life.  And yet… the idea for this contest just came to me one morning (with inspiration from other contests we all know of and PHIL's Xmas Reindeer. Great toy PHIL!).  Then some time passed, during which I finally worked up the nerve to say something about it at work, and before I knew it Fetch's design was complete and the contest was up and running.  Go figure.

Gotta love paper toys!
