folding with my daughter

so, it seems as if i have a paper fiend on my hands. turns out that my 7 year old daughter has caught the bug, and she can't be stopped. started out innocently enough, in fact it was a rainy day some 4 years ago when she and i were bored and looking for something to do when we came across readymech and built our first toy together. but we left it at that.

now, however, she's sitting next to me, x-acto in hand cutting her first template. a shin baby spiky, thank you very much. but that's not the best of it, she just finished her first build, a calling all cars designed by obokiki. i had cut it out, fully intending to fold it for her, thinking [foolishly] that just watching me would suffice for her coolness factor. how wrong i was. when she asked if she could do it herself [a theme for her since birth] i hesitated a full 30 seconds before i realized it was just paper and if she mangled it, so what, we'd print another one and try again.

so she set out, and before i knew it, she'd completed the car. perfectly. well, at least as good as i could do it. the body and head followed in quick succession, the smile growing on both our faces. 

any bets on the over/under as to when her collection exceeds mine?
