Nice Paper Toys

The Papertoy Network!

Here is a prototype of a papertoy/comic mash-up I'll be offering next weekend at S.P.A.C.E. (small press and comics expo) in Columbus Ohio. He's holding a tiny little 12 page super mini-comic, upside down. He'll be printed on both sides so the inside of his mouth and the underside of his legs won't be white. More pics soon as I get a final version printed.

Yup. I started out making it exclusive to Space, but I put a lot of work into it and I don't know how it will go over, so I've decided to call him Comic Monkey and he will not be exclusive to the event this wekend. I will put Comic Monkey up in my shop. I'm trying to make it relatively affordable compared to the Letterpress print I did for the robot, but I'm fighting the printer and I want to make it more"deluxe" than my downloadable models and play with some packaging ideas. So I don't know how much they will go for but it will be under $5.
More soon.

Matt--
I bought myself a print and build of your Custom Papertoy Robot when it first released on your Store Site. Will loyal papertoy enthusiasts be able to get one of these SPACE Monkeys through the internet (in some form or another)?

Me too! It's still in progress. I"ll definitely post some pics of the comic when it's done. I also made some spiffy packaging.

Thanks everybody. The comic is 1 by 1.5 inches, with 1 panel on each page of the comic. It's a tiny but readable 10 panel comic.
Marshall: Yeah I usually like to print on one side of the paper but on this one I needed to cover the inside of the mouth reverse of legs and arms and tail. which is totally doable it just means the model would have to be a lot smaller to make space for both sides and then that makes the comic to small to read.
Since I'm having them professionally printed to distribute at the event, I figured it would be easier to build if I printed it front to back than printed it on 2 pages front only. The inside of the comic is also on a separate sheet, so it can be printed on thin white paper instead of card stock.

I like the shape from combination body & head. The mini comic will be possible to be read? 'cause it does not look like that on the pic.
