1000 Cranes
This is what started me on paper folding / building. Back in 2002 my friend was crippled by MS. Inspired by the story of Sadako http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadako_Sasaki I set out to fold 1000 cranes for her. The finished project was about 7 feet tall and the steel banner reads "Fall 7 times, stand up 8".
