Good comments--I get the impression that this PaperToy network is a place to build up the hobby, elevate the art form, and foster a creative network. I think most of us hear learn by experimenting, like MCK says above, sometimes with the same familiar shapes, themes, and influences.
There's good work coming out of NPT, and I think those interested in the craft are trying to look out for each other--partly because we do this mostly for free, and credit for skill, creativity, innovation, and originality are the big payoffs. Not $$$. So, we look out for each other, and give credit to our influences.
Sometimes, the line may blur, and when we're aware of it, we should let people know where the origins of the work are...my opinion.
Brunei--regardless of the source material, which is certainly cool, you have shown a lot of skill in making it with paper!
