Just thought i'd share this gem of a site. I use it for quick text rendering. The only downside is it only works with thier fonts but they do have plenty to choose from

Pretty cool site, hence the name!
I cant help you with any offline programs im afraid,I use Gimp for everything!
Although you can make some good text effects with it!
