After careful and extensive consideration, I have decided to make a papercraft related zine of my own. The focus of this project will be more directed towards fan art, or interpretations of characters, as opposed to original customs. IILOVE has that area covered, and I dare not try to emulate what he is doing, and hope to continue to contribute to his beautiful zine.
In addition to fan-art type stuff, I also hope to feature ART by papercrafters, not necessarily their models. Each issue will only have at most TWO templates. At least one of those will be a Boxpunx model, at least for a while. I want to show illustrations, comic strips, and of course PHOTOS.
I not only make toys, but I collect them too! I have been downloading and printing various models by lots of different people and have been getting Vin, my photographer, to take pictures of them. So now I have all these boxpunx photos and all these photos of models I have collected, and all these illustrations I have made, it only seemed natural that I should staple all these stuff into a .pdf.
So thats a bit about what I am doing and why I am doing it. I am in the process of making a sample first issue and plan to send it out to a few artists who I would like to have onboard. IF you think you have something to offer this project let me know!
Again I must stress, I DO NOT want anyone to send me pictures or templates. If you must send me something, send me DRAWINGS OR COMICS. IF you do send me illustrations, all I ask is that they are either done by PAPERCRAFTERS ( so I can link to your site showing your drawings or templates) or PAPERCRAFT INSPIRED ( meaning even though you don't make papercraft you like it and included that "feeling" in your drawing somehow, I hope that makes sense!)
Ultimately no one needs to send me anything! I am doing this all on my own, save the drawings that I hopefully receive from contributors.
Oh, and every issue will be themed. The first four issues are as follows:
Number 21: MUSIC
Number 22: SUPERHEROES
Number 23: VIDEO GAMES
Number 24: JAPAN
Why is the first issue number 21? Who knows, but it is.
Cheers~

Jason... GREAT idea! I think a lot of us that create toys create art too (I also paint, draw, create comics, etc...) Loving the homage to Heavy Metal too! The way our 'scene' is growing is fantastic!
Great idea! Cant wait to see it! i love how the scene is growing too. I'm telling any one and every one i can. When i tell them there like "Papertoys? Never heard of it" then i explain and show them pictures and links and they thinks its great. The more the merrier i feel. Oh and love the video games one ;) lookin forward to it man.

Awe & Some!
Sort of the "Metal Hurlant" of the paper mode craft scene? And you've picked a great genre in this hobby scene with which to focus!
Really looking forward to the new magazine!
