I've been working/experimenting with a curvy papermodel
Because I thought it could be curvier I made an evolution version:
I'm not totally happy with the second model, but I've been working to long on it to just throw it away.
So I'm letting you guys/girls decide:
Which one is better?
Model #1
I think both versions are awesome, but if customisation isn't a factor, my vote is for #2 simply because of the innovative technique you've used. Neither should be thrown away!
Go for the gut-feeling Matthijs. Sure, the first model is more friendly for fans, but sometimes you need to build one exclusively for yourself. Just to flex your paper-muscles. And I'm interested in the paper-folding-technique you might discover.
:)
@3eyed: I do seem to "care" less about the "urban" part of papertoys, and like to design papertoys for me.... (and perhaps people who like to build it). The models become more complex, and that will make it difficult for other designers to customize it, so I can focus on new techniques..
Everyone thx for the comments: I'm designing a skin for model #1 and will use the technique from model #2 for totally deferent design.
