Lord of Thunder Paper Totem!

As I am sure you all know, a few months ago Dolly Oblong (who contributed a wonderful design to the first wave of Calling All Cars) started her own papercraft custom project, called "Paper Totem!" The idea behind the craft is very simple but works incredibly well. There is one basic template that can be adapted in many ways, and each toy can be stacked one on top of another to make a totem pole. There have already been many amazing contributions to the series from a wide variety of artists, which shows the flexibility and vast potential of this craft. I decided to try my hand at a Totem and spent rather a long time coming up with the design you see here. The title for my piece is "Lord of Thunder". I wanted to make this a really detailed piece and also allow for various different permutations with the multiple faces. You can pick up your own Horrorwood Totem over at Dolly's homepage by clicking here or the above image. While you are there check out all of the other fantastic designs, all available for free download.

Thanks again for the comments guys. I was trying to mix all kinds of legends etc with this one, but I guess the Roman/Greek vibe is the strongest. Check the back of the helmet for a more Japanese feel.
