hm... it will take a lot of time..just to custom this thing? just like illectronic mechanoid papertoys , wish that i can get my hand on it! anyway!! this is a sick stuff!! i really wanna see the outcome of this

I really don't know yet. But if you want to create a pattern that runs around the model, you need to:
1. build a blank model
2. draw you design on it by hand
3. cut the different parts so it's flat again
4. (scan the parts from 3) draw you skin in you favourite editor
5. print/build again to see if you did it correct.

it will at least cost you more time then a simple, less curvy model

lol for your information i make the spaceship of captain harlock it 50 cm lenght and the number of page it's 23 or 25 i d'ont remember exactly !!!
Also i think it's not a problem for my !!
If you continued this project i was so interresting to make it and custom it to!!!
