This is the mail that some of you have already received from Shin Tanaka, he has used all my contacts to send the same mail to all !!! I'm realy sorry, I make my apologies to all
I don't agree with Shin sending this e-mail to all your contacts, this should probably have been a private mail.
I do understand a bit where he's coming from & I'm going to guess his e-mail was sent in anger.
(By the way, You should NEVER send e-mails to a big group with the e-mail addresses out in the open like that. Use the "Blind Carbon Copy"-field for that, please. It's one of the ways spammers use to harvest e-mails)
Yo, wassup?
I'm new to the art of papertoys. I broke my anclebone somewhere in march and the internet was the only contact with the outside world, that's where I tripped over a picture of Grumm. It's november now and let's say a toy a day, so I know all you guys like my backpocket. MCK started it off, real cool sh*t. Can't miss Nicebunny. I'm a head for Hedkase. Chris Bonnette he da mac. And I'm really down with Jonny Chiba.Thanx 4 da mixtapes, Phil come sta! Dope sh*t. But Shin or should I say Mister Tanaka, fucked with my head; the shape, skin, design, graffity, how does he do it?
But now I can't understand the beef between Shin and Phil. I thought they're both real, street, Hip Hop. Then they should both know about the art of sampling. I'm not yet into designing my own toys, but I sample and remix. For instance: I take Phil's sneakers, legs and pants from the Speakerdog series then I combine it with the shirt and Boombox head from Jonny Chibba and finish it off with Dookie Poo's yellow cap. Or I'll use the packaging of a Toblerone choclate bar and stick the arms and legs and sneakers of Shin's Wallman on it. So please guys lighten up. I'm ol' school (1959 really old school) and I'd be honored if they'd use my sh*t.
Grtz, keep it funny funky & real! Methuup da Funky One.
Oh and make my funk da P-funk!
I do not understand you, you must excuse me! I consider you the numbers 1 in what you do but it seems that everyone is considered himself less than SHIN, WHY????? WHY???
you are all kings in your art!
I am serious and I always thought that.
Phil: If I were you I would send a calm e-mail to Shin, talk to the guy.
This branch of art doesn't have enough space for a fight.
Yes, you guys have a similar style, and I guess that Shin got a bit agitated when he thought he got ripped off. Like I said before, him e-mailing everyone on your mailing list wasn't exactly cool, especially when you consider that some of the people that got his mail might have been sponsors of yoour show etc.
If Shin reads this: Please work this out with Phil. It's not worth fighting over.
they are not competing against each other... this is what we call as? clash of idea.. two people have the same idea at the same time? come on people... both artists inspire us to improve and to be creative, i hate to this things like this happened...
Like Tephlon said? we dont have enough space to fight?...
i gez mr phil will do d same thing f he saw someone rip off his design.well thts how big dog play.man!! this is life, its natural for someone who have name 2 do such things!dunt be gulty if u ain't done anything wrong.peace!!
I love SHIN and Phil's work.
In this case, I believe SHIN.
He wouldn't be angry if this is the first trouble....but this is al least 3rd as far as I know....
Because I have been watching paper toy culture since 2004, I know Phil often do insult to shin.
First, he used SHIN's sneaker template on his template.
I thought they are so similar shape, and tried to lap the two template.
The outline is almost same. No one can believe PHIL didn't stealed SHIN's template.
And 2nd is on website.
Phil used some sentences from SHIN's web sentence.
I have the images. Do you think this is a miracle?
Then 3rd is this case.
If I were SHIN, I won't let an insult like that.
But SHIN is very smart, don't you read his reply?
He worried about Phil, I think he want to protect him from unkind fans,
and he want Phil not to forget his originality and identity.
>Hi all,
>
>I deeply apology it.
>I wanted to reply only to PHIL.
>However I missclicked a button "reply all".
>
>And some people say this is a battle "SHIN vs PHIL".
>However I haven't meant to battle with him.
>I just worried Phil because my many fans mailed to me and said there
>are SHIN's fakes,
>it's disadvantageous fact for him.
>I sent another mail to him and he understood what I wanted to say,
>that's not dis but advice.
>
>Anyway I'm sorry I confused you....
>
>Keep a real, Keep Original.
>Peace,
>;)

Phil, to be honest.
I don't want to dislike you....
Thank you all for having understood! I hope!
but I do not understand the problems raised by JOHNNY.
You can not judge me because I wrote the instructions taken from those SHIN!
This does not mean to copy his style! and the template of the shoes is totally different from his. I spent 5 days to create and refine. urge you to look at the template shoes of the G-BOY and compare it with the last toy I'm producing and you'll notice that there was a search. This shows that I have personally worked to define my style!
Anyway thank you for the comment, if anyone is interested in these things not ever grow artistically
