Just to see if it worked, here's a 9 teeth gearwheel:

Made from Inkscape's Extensins>Render>Gear, I added the needed parts, piece by piece, like add a square, snap to Path, rotate 40 degrees, group...

Ended up this way:

Now, it's like, going back to the drawing board, and add some pieces...
