really? wow, seems like just yesterday i was nursing the champagne hangover. maybe it's all the glue. but regardless of how quickly it blew by, i wouldn't trade it for anything. i'll always remember january 2011 as the month i truly discovered my love of folding paper, and for the beginnings of some great friendships i've made here on nice paper toys.
the community, the ideals, the passion, and the creativity that exists here is hard to equal, and i'm thrilled to be a part of it. thank you for welcoming me with open arms, sharing the templates i couldn't find, and inspiring me to do more than just print, fold, obsess. i sincerely hope to contribute more than just another name and a few pictures.
looking forward to february, i'm stoked by all the new designs i'll discover, and the templates i'll build. i still have heidi and zeke to round out my "easy" designs from papertoy monsters and then onto the "intermediate" ones. i've yet to attempt a mechabunny, grumm, or anything from vin. i expect that to all change as i continue to seek that thrill from finishing these gorgeous creations and adding them to my collection.
my 2 other major goals for this second month of 2011 is to gain a basic understanding of illustrator and then to apply that to a template of my own. i can only hope it's worthy of a build or two. and who knows? maybe a custom...
a kid can dream, right?
