The latest original is also a new template design - Grrrnade! He's available right now, right here.
Wow I haven't posted anything on NPT for awhile. Time to play catch up! First off congrats to all the folks in the Papertoy Monsters book. I happened to get mine on Papertoy Monsters Day and it is just an amazing collection, just so much great work in there, I'm going to be pretty busy building. (Just as an aside - where do you keep your papertoys? shelves, display case, refrigerator...?)
I have a few of my own books to announce now as well- Batman: Built for Action, Green Lantern: Power of the Ring and Spongebob Squarepants: Spongebob and Friends. The Batman and Green Lantern books each feature 6 Cubeecraft each. It looks like the Spongebob book may have 7. All 3 books will have die-cut pieces so assembly is as easy as "pop and fold".
The Batman: Built for Action book is available from Amazon right now and should be making its way into stores over the next month. The Green Lantern and Spongebob books are available for pre-order. I will have copies of all three available on Cubeecraft.com in the future.
Since my last post here on NPT I've added 24 fan art pieces and only 1 new original to Cubeecraft.com which I feel is a bit of a shame - not that I don't like doing fan pieces or originals but I'm looking to try and shift the scales a bit more in favor of AT LEAST a balance of original and pop culture influenced releases and I'm working on a lot more over-sized originals for upcoming some upcoming events like...
PAX East (March 11-13)
Too Art for TV 5 (opens March 18th)
MOCCA Fest (April 9-10)
Toy Street (April 22)
(If you are in NYC for any of the last 3 dates please come out and say "hi".)
Hopefully I'll have more updates and original releases over the next few weeks... stay tuned.
Special thanks to all the new friends on NPT and everyone for their support! I think I've told this story a thousand times but I started this site to just to challenge myself to create something at least once a week and I honestly didn't think I'd make it a month and here we are 3 years in with over 300 paper toys... it's staggering. On top of that meeting all of you guys and gals and being part of this whole paper toy movement and seeing all this amazing work being done... it's just awesome and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Thank you all for your support and keep up the good work yourselves!
