I've just released my "TapeHead" into the wild under a Creative Commons License.

I hope it's enough.

I'm starting to notice some paper toy creators copying alot from Shin, thats not really good.
this is one of the reasons I created this forum, but obviously not too many of you care....if it gets on his nerves enough, he might decide to do something about it...and some of the more popular names on this site have also copied, which is a little of a let down, being your showing off someone else's hard work.
ya know, the great thing about being a creator is that you have the pride and creative expression to walk around "knowing" what you went through to get there.
it's unfortunate everyone wants to be a superstar and not a super designer/artist!
you know who you are, I don't need to get into it, and for everyone who assumes I'm wrong, well...just compare notes from dates published.

ok, let's see...just for openers if it has a copyright you don't have to write anything, but it's always friendly to add a disclaimer, although through paperwork you don't need one.

you don't have to write who it was designed by or what it's use is for.

you should have a disclaimer for charity just so you make the statement clear and comfortable so they know.

you say the design is for free, but no "non" commercial use of it without your permission..huh???
when involving yourself in intellrctual property, you want to try to clear up as much bull as possible, and that takes alot of writing.
you want to make everyone who comes across your piece with specific allowance or not.

claim what it is exactly your allowing!

by the way dame, right now your trademark, what looks to me is that green flame, because your leaving it with every Urbanfresh signature and ad, so that's your trademark.

technically if your all curious about pricing?...we'll get down to that alittle later on as the board grows,
but I'm not a selfish person so if your intersted in trademarking, it's not just about paying the money it takes to own a trademark, but it also needs to be astablished that there is in fact "no one" " not 1" other individual out there owning what you think you came up with.

there's a database with all the titles of trademarks and their ownership...ya got it?

it cost about $300 to own your own trademark, but that is without the set-up fee, anyone who's going to do this for you(unless you know someone who's willing to do alot of work for you for free), is going to charge you a fee, and it could be even more than the cost of the actual trademark price.

note: intellectual proporties is serious work, and your work has everything to do with what you percieve that to be as well as the visual itself, so when getting down to the paperwork there's alot you must consider for the future of it's ownership...the more you write, the more rights you'll get!

ahh...good question.
well, let me see...ok, just for openers...don't ever think lawyers or someone who owns rights don't care about those so called little fishes...actually they care so much about what your doing with their rights that they will, yes..check this out...they will steal your idea!
and who ever is going around saying ang telling people, "as long as you don't sell it", is a bit under the weather here...some companies allow you to do george lucas allows anyone to mock up on starwars, but that doesn't say anything about the other 15 billion copyright ownerships.
the thing about this subject, and don't even consider getting nervous about this borrowing need...remember your up-bringing has alot to do with how you think and who you might be.
pop-culture has showed us numerous of billions of all sorts of visuals....propably so many, none of us can ever count, so the fact that you may love a show, an artist, an ad...etc.....we contrieve what shoots us in the face, but to dish it out in a creative way through humor in which we all learned from one thing or a person or another, doesn't make anyone of us crooks.

Now, on the other hand if you intentionally go out of your way to try and purportrait a marketing scheme, or let's just say you have a brilliant idea and a certain market or character, or visual from a favorite camp of your tastes that you didn't create, like making a marketing plan/idea for bart simpson to become a doctor, or murderer, or have an interesting idea that it would be cool if rocky fought alien.....your intentions are to profit from someone else's just became a thief!
even if your the biggest fan and you have an idea for your favorite ballplayer, or permission, no production.

what it comes down to, is that your infringing on that ownerships rights....he/she, they can do what ever they want to do to you!
how would you like it if I borrowed your template to make a profit?..or wait, no profit?
that's clearly the owners right of passage

..or how about I just borrow the name "nicebunny" for a little while?....that'll be cool, but wait, that may not be too cool to him.
he may have his own personal reason to think my idea isn't good.

I wish I can really express myself kindly on this topic as I believe this forum will continue to grow strong and we all learn from one another...but for now, I'll just try to answer the questions.

so, with that said, I hope I filled in a couple of loopholes and gaps with this.

thank you so kindly for your time.

Great idea!!
And by someone who has studied it (intellectual properties). Thanks for a "place" where you can go to and ask questions about this complicated subject.
