Hello NPT!

We're real excited to have found this site. It feels great! We hope to get involved within the community here.

 

The site itself is real in-depth, which is great.

 

We're Tabs and Slots, a collaborative duo between myself, Hernan Cerezo, and my good and creative friend, Chris Drummonds. 

 

Chris is a graphic designer getting into illustration, and I'm an illustrator going into graphic design. So we work together, and meet someplace in the middle. It works out well!

 

Our first creative collaboration was Chris's idea, which was to do papertoys. We both love animals, and we both love zombies, so it was easy to want to combine the two. We came up with Paper Pet Zombies.

 

I sketched out the concepts, he interpreted my sketches and custom engineered the folding templates by hand in illustrator (no automated software), I illustrated the skin within the template, and together we polished the final results. The first Paper Pet Zombie is Salivini the zombie dog. Named in honor after famed horror-movie make-up artist, Tom Savini, Salivini is a zombie dog who's seen better days. He's got a dripping arm nub, cracked open cranium where you can take a peek into his brain, and a lolling tongue. 

 

 

 

Our second Paper Pet Zombie is Roarmero the zombie grizzly. Named in honor after the grandfather of the modern zombie, George Romero, Roarmero is a zombie grizzly bear who's kind of a brute. He's been attacked with a hatchet, but it has obviously failed to stop him (hatchet is replaceable with a hairpiece). But he's been roughed up enough to have his eyeball hanging from his face, and his guts starting to spill!

 

 

We're very proud of our first two papertoys, and we're excited to hear what this community thinks. We've seen some real nice papertoys here, and we're excited to contribute!
