Nice Paper Toys

The Papertoy Network!

What was the first papertoy that you put together? The one that started it all.

For me, it was a preprinted model of Fox's Arwing in an old issue of Nintendo power. I think I held it together with tape than glue but it came out very nice. This was more than a few years ago. I had no idea what was papercraft at the time so I didn't get into again until little over a year ago. But I still remember that Arwing model I made.

my first model was matt hawkin's "Tribunny".

From then onwards (a year ago) i have been obsessed! :)
As a kid I've build a battle ship, but the first papertoy model was a Brickboy by Sjors Trimbach
I think the Readymech Pirate by Fwis was my first, but I didn't really catch the fever until I saw Nana the monkey astronaut by Marshall Alexander. If you're reading this, Thanks, Marshall for getting me hooked on papertoys with your design!
I don't really remember any from my childhood but the first one I built that got me interested in designing my own was Destroy-o-tron by LouLou.
The first ones I've seen were the Fwis papertoys ... and I built Skeletron in the same journey! (in february 2007) because he have two "faces", white and black.
i stumbled across a "nice bunny" papertoy on the "make" magizine website. i think i was looking for instructions on how to make a handheld atari but i noticed a post about a samurai bunny toy made out of paper. so i printed it out, put it together( i think i used wood glue because that is all i had) and as soon as it was finished i put it an my shelf and dove right back into the internet to find more. way to go Nice Bunny.
Hehe! That's sweet man!
When I was a kid (sometime in the early 80s), I put together a carnival with a Ferris Wheel and lots of little pieces. No idea what company it was or what happened to it, but I vividly remember how satisfying it was to build.
dude, that osunds AWESOME! a carnival?? that is such a GREAT idea for a paper toy! :) :) :)

its a pity you dont remember the model's creator, otherwise i would HAPPILY make that model ANY day :)

sounds cool man! :)

Mine was Sjors' Brickboy, same as mck, Sjors also pretty much started me off with doing my own, and he did the first custom Speakerdog paper toy, top man Sjors.
Sjors was also the first who commented on my first papertoy: Grumm
The first papertoy i build was my own blank version. At that moment i had never heard about papertoys. Or maybe... yes, i once build some 'Fabeltjeskrant' characters. The first toys i found online were Brickboy and the Readymechs... I was really surprised to find all those great papertoys on the internet.
