Nice Paper Toys

You might have noticed that I havent posted or said anything of true interest mainly because when I joined Nice Papertoys I wanted to be seen as a papertoy artist instead i have shown that Im more of a papertoy collector and thats exactly what im gonna do. This will take quite a while but I will need a website and Adobe Illustrator this will be something I hope many of you artists will take part of. Hopefully I will be able to do this but at the same time theres a chance this will not work. so keep your eyes peeled because the project has just begun

Hope you will take part of this many of you ;)

Once you have a website I can put a link on my site to help you to get more people downloading your toys! It doesn't take very long to make a website. Once you have your website I would put on the toys you have already made and then think of new ones!

Yo Gab,
If you ever need advise on templates (not about what programs to use coz I do everything by hand).
As you know I've build every model possible. And I'm test building for some guys, so I'd be happy to do it for you.
Meanwhile I'll be waitin' for the Big Bang
Grtz Meth. (P.S. Cool trumpet, what's your flavor? Jazzy, Funky, Classical...)

Hey Gab :)

so are you saying that you want to try start making papertoys man? coz in that case, from what i can gather your probably trying to start up an artists series. (e.g.shin tanaka's spiky babys. He gets other people to put designs on HIS template)

Now this may seem a little weird but DO NOT MAKE AN ARTISTS SERIES FOR YOUR FIRST PAPERTOY. Even if you have made one or two before, you need to get noticed before you can even attempt a task as collosal as this. I am speaking from experience. I tried to get an artist series happening for MY first toy....after around 3-4 months i only got like 4 designs. The reason was that no one knew me. I didn't have enough "street cred" as they say, to get anyone to participate.

Thats why you need to first get experience MAKING toys, then release some good ones to the public to get recognised in the community as a proper artist. This may very well be what your trying to do. I am just warning you though that if your trying to make an artists series around now, forget about it.

Get your skills up in illustrator, (or whichever program you're trying to become familiar with) get some design and illustration skills up, then begin making your own BASIC template. all the time, remember to make TONNES of toys! Study others toys, their illustrations and their parts. Do research on how to make certain shapes and techniques.

After all this my friend, and releasing a good solid collection of toys and customs, you'll hopefully get enough credibility within the community that you can go ahead, design a great toy, and have yourself a brilliant artist's series. I am taking part in this long process and i'm still learning alot about what you have to do to make great looking, successful toys.

If you need any more help, ask one of the other guys here on NPT for tips on making toys. Also, I highly recommend contacting my friend DMC. He knows a lot about what to do and how to make a good toy and has helped me tonnes over the past few months. DMC is also a budding young designer and im sure he wouldn't mind helping you out. Check him out here : www.dmcdmcblog.blogspot.com

I hope that i have perhaps helped you a bit man.... :P
If you have any more concerns or need assistance with your stuff feel free to email me at ljimbol@hotmail.com

Peace man,

Anubis :)
