As many of you know, the amazing, Mad Matt Hawkins is putting together an awesome papertoy book, featuring a whole bunch of papertoys by as many artists, including myself. :) There are also plans to include a giant, collaboration toy, made up of ten (I think) separate toys by as many artists, each one being a different body part that when put together, will make one super mega toy. Sweeeet! So I was asked to do the torso. And Matt has encouraged me… Continue
I recently made this Giant Riot Cop papertoy for Peel Magazine's, "Sold Out" show at Alias Gallery. He stands 13 inches tall and carries a big stick! My original design is improved here, with his shield window and visor made of transparency film, so he can clearly see who he's beating. ;) I have included a pic of it next to the smaller original version, as well as one of me holding it, so you can get a feel for… Continue
1) At the advice of some friends/clients, I've put together a simple portfolio of my works @ http://fx-designs.blogspot.com
Do let me know what you think of it!
2) If you're interested in converting some of your toy sketch ideas to actual sculpted prototypes, for your own delight, or for mass production, do drop me an email as well.

This is a first for me: I finished a custom design!
And what fun I had doing that:
and I call him/it Grim Grinning Grunt
I have a very bad habit of starting something, but never finishing it... I think I have about 6 custom toy designs (from different designers) laying around that need just a little attention and then they’re done.
Without knowing it, NiceBunny made me realize that when someone does me a… Continue

I got this pic recently from *Kat* who made some of my NaniBirds using something called CraftRobo. It's a kind of die cutting machine for all kinds of flat materials. Using it she made tiny versions of the birdies... you can see the size comparison to the envelopes in the background.
At $300 the CraftRobo is waaaaay too rich for my… Continue

You know DOFUS? A very great and popular flash MMORPG, made in France (that's why he is very popular in France).
There is a papertoy in every Dofus mag' since the first! ......... well, OK, there are only two numeros :)
Meet Sparky--a matchstick with big problems. He stands about 8 inches tall, adding some height to any Papertoy collection. Right now there is no website--I lack the skillz--but he's available in a PDF for anyone interested in building. There are already quite a few variations I've built, but he's got a pretty simple form that is open to customization… Continue
ok so im just getting back into paper crafts and so far im doing ok but im interested to find out what tools everyone's using,
i don't mean the trusty old scissors or scalpels, more along the lines of the best glues or tapes you've come across and the different kinds of card you've tried.
At the mo im using my tried and tested 6mm double sided tape (borrowed from work!) and a light weight smooth finish graphic and text quality card from the local WH Smith's -… Continue
