Nice Paper Toys

The Papertoy Network!

Information

NPT Year One

I have decided to do a book of the very best paper toys by you, the NPT members. Make sure your favorite toys make it into the book.

Members: 65
Latest Activity: Jan 14, 2012

Please list your top 3 favorite toys by other artists! (You may also list as many other favorites as you like)

Be sure to include links to the toys you choose. It would also be helpful if you would add a photo of them here as well.

Entries must be submitted by March 1st, 2010.

Anything from 2008-the end of 2009 will be considered, as long as they are by NPT members.

Please help to make NPT Year One a shining example for the incredible talent and wonderful toys that makes NPT so great!

There should be an annual award-show too Brian. Where's 'Hot Paper' when you need it? ;)

Honestly, there are too many favourites, but if you would threaten to kill my granny, I would say:
Hoophy by Shin, because, it's Shin,.. still most influential.
Bobbing-Head Heroes by Matt, because of it's ultimate lowbrow-yness and, again, it's inexhaustible reaching to a new audience.
Lo Slungg by Matthijs, because of it's technically complicated-ness. Very high brow and pushing the envelope in engineering.

Talent-awards: Dolly Oblong, Fai SalAzad, Jay Edwards and Tougui, all grown-up, driven and excellent designers. Be it in paper-shaping, in character-creation and in illustration.

Personal highlights :)

I have none of my own to offer, but from others:

1. Nicolas Saloquin: http://nsaloquin.blogspot.com/2009/08/blog-post.html

This just blew me away. If I have to pick one character of the lot, it would be L'archiduc Pestifére.

2. Bloeddorst: http://www.mennomail.nl/bloeddorst/bloeddorstWP/2009/05/22/army-of-...

Very nice use of folding to create shapes and volume.

I still have to think of a third one ... :)

Question: Do the toys have to have been available for download?
