i send emails to all my friends and them they send to their friends, i look in forums to share my designes an recently i participate in 3 expositions ,people ask for my work and them i made some bussines cards just whit the link of my page and last weeck i appear on a local tv show showing my papercraft designes and now i have an invitation to 3 more expos thats my self-promotion (sorry about my english)

my two cents.

I send press release to about 20 blogs or so.
-the papertoys blogs
-the urban toys blogs
-design blogs
-some blogs. :)

using stumbleupon and make friends with other stumblers.

and also spread the words at my facebooks. :)

What I did was :

Post my site in Facebook, Friendster
Upload my creations in Myspace, DeviantArt
Sent in my creations to Some Papercraft blogs like Papercraft.blogspot.com
Join papercaft forum such as this and FXCONSOLE.blogspot.com
Put up my blog updates in Ping.sg

These might be useful for you.
For me, it seems that my site is still pretty quiet even though i do update frequently.
