Nice Paper Toys

The paper toy network

I'm still a student in high school, but most of you guys are out. I was wondering what types of jobs you guys have. Do you guys make paper toys as part of your job, or just for fun

Just curious...

I work as a graphic designer in the daytime. I do these papertoys to counterbalance the more restricted work I have to do at my job.

I work as a graphic designer/ web developer. Just recently at work we were able to create a few paper toys for an exhibit. But mostly I do it for fun...

I used to teach and work in graphic design field, but now helping my old man in the plastic industry due to his condition. I'm doing paper toys as a 'therapy' to maintain my art & design sanity, but once in a while I'm trying to figure out how to take it to a higher level...

studying is what i am concerning right now as i am entering the most crucial semester in my life, where i need to go through 14 weeks of practicum, and term papers, hahaha...
while paper toys is a hobby which i really love to do with my friends, family, plus it help me a lot in language teaching, in the long run? i might be seeing papertoys as a part time jobs

I work as a large format printer specializing in ultra-wide print, i started as an engineer and making paper models was always a hobby as a kid so making card deisgns and scale models was a bonus for me! just recently getting back into it after doing the whole family & kids bit but im looking to take advantage of my printers do something on a larger scale, been thinking of a life size retrobot or similar project as Marshall alexanders work is just crying out to be life size in my opinion!

ill upload a few picks of some larger stuff so u can get an idea of the scale i wanna try!

Awesome! You could probably make a giant scale model in Cardboard (Or Plywood, heh) and then apply the print to it. Damn, now you gave me some very expensive ideas.... :-)

not expensive to me fortunatley, i can always sneak in a few prints here and there until ive got a whole design printed then start construction! got a blog running on the idea of large scale - see On a larger scale!

Graduated as animator and turned in a webmaster for clients like Philips and Heineken. It pays the bills. Illustration and paper models are what drives me and 'just for fun' is to small a meaning. My dayjob gives me the freedom to draw and make exactly what I like and not bother with clients.

i'm A 3d computer games artist,
mainly doing environment stuff.
i just make models as the mood , or inspiration takes me,
as a break from the high polygon (triangles) world of work.
